What is the new age trend, that’s fashion these days? Is it a new affectation of the bearings to create a consumer society that the technology age brings? ‘Perform without thinking, settle the things that are given to you, and be eurhythmic’… Are these the new methods to develop the society?

We are borne and die completing our period; we usually don’t even perceive that we are breathing. Are we really living incidentally? Do we get pleasure of life as much as we want to? Are we living as a human? Do we know what it means, to live or to be a human? Are we aware of the life is an art? It is a genuine that we show the traits of humans’ family, and have the same body with the living things that are two legged, thinking, and called human. But is it our body peculiarities that make us human? You have perhaps witnessed somebody said ‘If he is a human I’m ashamed of being a human’ so, what are the secrets of being a human? Should we keep in step with the environment that we are not pleased and advise the coming ages to do so?

I’m sure you have asked these questions to yourselves too many times and their answers are almost on the tip of your tongues or you really know, but how will you carry out? We became an age that is called new age, with the people trying to find answers to these questions, some of us got hold a little end of this age. And I wanted to light the way for you, , by simplifying as much as I can, with the things that I know, I learned and I’m trying to carry out  about being a human and not to have had a life that we will remember by saying ‘I wish’ when we get old.

HOW DID THE NEW AGE APPEAR?

Economy has been affecting our lives by the industrial society. It has almost been impossible to have a tranquil life without money. By the industry’s development day by day, every kind of material beauty has been exhibited by attracting people. Because the more moderns’ of the things they bought by loving too much, came on the markets after a week, people have been steered towards an unhappy and unsatisfied exhaustment.The beauties depend on economy, created societies that can be bought by the same economic value, money, far away from the personal values and without love and disrespectful.

A group of people in the society loosing its personal values started thinking why they were still unhappy and unsatisfied even they had all the material beauties after a while. What was incomplete?

Thousands of researches about this subject, kinds of books and articles started to reach at the society and to make them think. Finally it could be realized that, it was necessary to saturate peoples mental necessities besides their eyes and egos’ necessities, otherwise a society that is unhappy, making war, filled with desire and ready to argue would be created, and people would loose their values by becoming distant of their self-esteem. This concept exposed how communication was necessary not only for marketing but also for creating a society understands eachother.People unhappy married and started unhappy families.

The polygamy exposed in the West societies was an expression of this kind of a search. People who don’t have confidence to themselves and are unhappy, started looking for the love and the trust that they need, at otherones.People concerned about whether an upper model would be produced tomorrow or not while buying something, started having the same wonder on their relationships also. The ‘I’m flirting with this guy today but I wonder if I’m missing someone will make me happier’ understanding was the same with the point of view to the matter. But before poor humanity realized that, broken families, and children unhappy and without love started to be a part of the society which the virtues were lost. People started being pawns of the ideologies. It was commenced to create a society which can’t defend him self’s ideas, exhibiting the only thing that he knows, the products of being without love, hitting, breaking, and believing that it was true. However humanity was beautiful because of its variety. It was exhibiting the all life’s variety by its different ideas and different believes. Difference of its colors was even exhibiting the beauty of a life that isn’t monotonous. But the mercilessness that the competition brought commenced showing itself at all the part of the life. The strong one would win and the people have compassion was condemned to be oppressed always. Different industry branches that realized that people were unhappy and on the way of search, commenced to be formed. These were the political groups that were promising happiness and tranquility to humanity and were the religion exploiter. It was a distinct industrial branch which realized that people’s spiritual parts should also have been satisfied and which wanted to use this for their own purposes, which used humanly values, and separated people and set them quarreling. I said industry because they were acting with the same mentality. The goods they put on the market were people. These people were following around these thoughts for happiness and tranquility. Now the humanity that has lost its most important peculiarity, the ability of thinking, and has got used to be presented everything as a pill, commenced following around the ones that it thinks that are strong, and also to sacrifice himself. They were also dying for other ones’ purposes just because they thought they would be happy.

Briefly, something was going wrong, the people who were been promised to be happy, weren’t happy. People who thought they could find happiness with sex, commenced having sex with anyone who comes along, and thought it was freedom, but the end of this way made them look for the happiness at the pills, at the discos, and at the streets. They had died, had killed for their ideology but couldn’t still stay out of the little groups that they could have shared their believes. They couldn’t still like themselves and the things they were doing, still didn’t have confidence in themselves, so they couldn’t be happy.

They had tried the religion too. Even though  the religions were mentioning love, equality, being able to forgive, somehow a religious belief couldn’t show respect to another belief, also was separating people by their religious believes or unbelievers like the society which was separating them by their political opinions. Humanity was still looking for the happiness and the peace which it still couldn’t own. A mind bearing down on human to recognize himself appeared, which was called new age mind as a conclusion of the experts’ searches about human psychology to be able to provide peace and to join people together, it was also aimed to join people together with the universal values. This mind was a mind which was appreciating people just because they were people and wasn’t separating them with their ideologies and believes. But the only reality would obstruct this to be a utopian hypothesis was, human to know and understand what was further side of his physical phantom that he defined.

These were the most important reasons of the new age trend. At the same time it steered people to search too many genuine that they couldn’t explain, for them to see that  the truths which they thought would never change, changed the following day and the positive science that they embraced which was teached at schools almost as the divine potency to change continual.

New age is a comprehension that searches, tells and at the same time carries on the studies to understand the humanity, and also suggests appreciating human more than material. It is the observation that still needs to believe something to search god, in a society where it is thought that the intelligent people didn’t need religious believes.

NEW AGE’S PRESENTS

New age shares the same time period with the industry and nuclear age. Actually our society that staid between east and  west, knows the truth ‘ to be unite with the world’s spirit’ which was caught by the philosophers at the East civilizations hundreds and thousands years ago, and that has raised many philosophers on its earth, still tries to discover these truths again. Our citizens are in too much danger, who unfortunately tries to understand these kinds of writings at the West countries’ books or articles, because it isn’t talked about the section that search too much about these subjects in our country. The reason I said unfortunately is this subject to be a very new notice for the West society and these societies’ that is completed with the exploiter mentality of  the industry, abilities to make these magnificent knowledge fit the exploitation purpose very easily. But the new age is the noticement age, it is the observation unit, that aims to wake the sleeping people up, that knows what it does and why it does, that knows itself well, that is aware of every kind of problem, and tries to find solutions to these problems.

But as you would approve too, it is very possible for these people who are just in the searching phase and who haven’t brightened up yet, to give the societies some guidance as if this is the reality and damage them even they don’t want to while  writing their searching’s.

As Nazım Hikmet said “Living alone and free as a tree and brotherly as a forest”. We can’t talk about being sibling with the world’s individuals as a forest if we can’t get free as an individual. Yes while the West society were beginning this age again, too many goodhearted people who are volunteer for this work and trying to be beneficial being aware of everything, have given lectures and written writings to enlighten people. People who tried to get something out of this work for themselves has appeared also, they had tried to use people wrongfully for their own ends by using their believes. Without a difference of the darkness inside us, the biggest wrong of the new age is it to bend the best and the most perfect things.

Because of these bends, this opinion style which made it its duty to put the human rights (that is exceedingly virtuous) into practice individual, and which was defensive of not only in their country but also the World peace, was seen as against the press and too many people. Too many times it isn’t possible to understand that this age means love, delight, tolerance, and respect and peace age from the books that are attractive but can’t bear the realities which come on the markets. As too many people following these knowledge from the market the press damns the new age thinking it is nothing except utopian hypothesis, and also thinks the new age literature and linguistics is a dump, and idealism disappears too. Of course this abrades the new age thinkers who know the truths, who works on the subjects like ecology, earth, saving natural life, human rights (women rights, children rights, old people’s rights –whatever these mean, this discrimination always seemed ridiculous to me-  and sexuality, language, religion, sex mind (homosexual,etc.), or age whatever these are because they are in human category I will say human rights generally) and the activities against war like disarmament, who search the meaning of the life by knowing themselves well and respectful to themselves. Because they care about the criticisms.

The new age thinkers are open minded people, on the mystical ways they have skepticism. This keeps them open to unexpected knowledge’s even to people’s most little oneiric wishes.

That’s why it is necessary to evaluate these critiques, while getting these knowledge’s you must be very careful and suspicious, when you just can’t understand whom to trust you might think these people the monument of the mental being.

Elizabeth Lesser, the founding of the Omega Institute, expresses how she believed its beauty, goodness and the importance of the date at this moment more than every time, and how she saw the life style changed people’s lives the positive way, in spite of the spurious teachers, the bothering paradoxes and general foolishnesses, after twenty years she has been canary at the new age mines.

We can split the cultural differences teached as main value and inheritance to us instead of politeness and inner peace, by working with patience always, and we can feel the effects of this transformation on our relationships. There is one thing more important than everything, new age teaches us to show respect to life’s beauty and to be afraid of the mystery of death less.

New age knowledge can be used in good or bad ways like the duality inside us. New age is a good self-interest door for the people who don’t ask the question ‘how can I  be beneficial for humanity and especially to me’ to themselves, or can be a new game field for people who are used to bend everything every time and to bury their heads to the sand. Sure new age isn’t the first mental action that is wagged between reality and hypocrisy.

It isn’t possible not to remember Confucius’ nice word “ Mistakes are to create the virtue, mistakes are me to test and analyze what I learned, not to be able to go forward to the right direction after the way is shown, my inability of  correcting my mistakes – these are the reasons of my sorrow.”

We can’t give up the idea of taking pleasure and delight just because these beautiful knowledges are bent. If we do like that it would be like the idiom in English “To pour out the bath water with the baby.” So we must be awake. While advancing on this way filled with sophisms, save your witticism ability, keep your heart and your mind open and as Ms. Lesser said check if your mental detector works towards nonsenses before leaving your house, for not to be grabbed to made-up rumors and belief systems.

New age expects us to take the responsibility of our own health and development, celebrate the differences in the world, to be shield to each other and to expose the secret in the universe.

The new age knowledges are miraculous because they take us to the real one. That’s why new age’s real guides always point out this way to us. That’s why we have events that can’t be explained with our today’s belief system.

Let’s leave the new age knowledges and turn towards our write’s purpose. Our write isn’t about being borne as a human but to be a human. It necessitates attention to raise a rose like raising a child, it necessitates to struggle with illnesses. Rose’s thorns prickle and hurt the way people’s sharp tongues and motions hurt. How can we raise them without hurting them and ourselves, what should we do for the society to be a healthy society? Do we know ourselves? Do we take everyone under our wings as beautiful, harmonious and overlooked individuals like a rainbow with our different colors, are we sweet-smelling?

All babies are borne as a human, but their life conditions, the things they see or can’t see their educations and the things they live or can’t live make them become distant of being humans. What happens then? Let’s look at the society we are living in, I am not talking about our country’s people only, be sure that all world’s people have these kinds of things in different ways, but I will give samples from my own fatherland. Is even one of you satisfied of living in such a society 100 percent? We such have ourselves snatched in life struggle that we are dragged with the things the society teached us I mean home, work, the family necessities, and we can’t even realize that we are preparing our life’s end during these dragging. Even if you ask this question to someone, he would say that he had no time to strive with these kinds of useless things, that he was too busy and his works were too intensive. But the thing that is empty really empty is their life. I have never liked using the term ‘living like an herb’. Because the living things that we call herbs or plants do feel understand love, when you submit your love to them they become ebullient and grow up, if we give enough vitamins and water to them, put enough soil and clean it, especially if they feel the sun’s all lights in their bodies they would be really happy. They show us their pleasure undoubtedly by growing up full of life and healthy as we desire.

What about us? Do we feel? Do we realize the love that is submitted? Do we realize ourselves? We realize after too many times pass, mostly when it is too late to do something even that we are ill. We the intelligent beings are such busy with such things that we can’t even realize if we are on the floor or the sky also, besides we can’t be useful for the things we are doing.

We can’t even see or feel the world we are living on. What does the world want from us? Are we the flower gardens of the world? Do we grow up, take root and die the way it wants. This is not our problem because we have too many useless things to do. The life conditions are hard, it expects us to work too much, children expect food. Above all our mate never understands whom we quarrel at the work, how we give fight for one bite of bread as if it isn’t enough us to run hither and yon, he or she expects love as if it is given to us.

I am not one of the people whom is necessary for to have the problem personally no matter what and have it again and again and crash the walls every time to be able to understand that the problem is problem. I am one of the people who can feel the other ones’ pains in his heart.

I would like to ask you if you ever realized the roof up on your heads. Have you ever perceived or enjoyed the one bite of bred to the full? But you were working for these things, weren’t you? You were running hither and yon for these things. We usually wish to be able to realize these things when we get old. But probably we who neglect ourselves this much, and can’t realize the world that we live on would die the same way. Our lives shout these to us frankly.

Besides there are the ones who are more optimists. They try to be happy by praying night and day that they and their children are healthy. Because life is between four walls much for themselves. Are they glad of the life? “Thank God” that he had given them a house that they can hardly pay its renting. They have pretty debts, especially when they get out between of that four walls even it isn’t because of themselves there are the ones who aggravate or who want to fight. They never want to get out between of that four walls but it is OK “Thanks God” they are healthy. Their children can’t have the education the way they want them to, their teachers who must be educators first can’t give the education the way it should be because they don’t know how to do or their life conditions are hard too, but it is Ok too, they don’t know that it is their right to require this anyway, even if they know because they thing like “Now the teacher will blacklist the child, make him regret” they do nothing. They feed themselves very difficulty with the money they earn, how will they give money to the doctor, they have no money to go to the private doctor, it is evident the situation of the government’s hospitals, the one who goes in healthy goes out ill but “Thanks God” they are healthy. Anyway the most important thing is health otherwise how will they earn money? How will they pay their rentings? They have a boss who gets very angry to illness, if they don’t work excuse me like a dog he would show them the door. What will the entire family do wretchedly poor then but “Thanks God” they are healthy.

If you ask ‘till when?’ they never think about it, when there are a lot of poor around thanks god that they have a work. If you ask them what to do for those poor people they will say “I don’t know, I am living by thanking god for the things I have anyway (if that is living), perhaps God would give them their sustenance, is it my business while there are too many rich people?” Fundamentally they say “I have no situation to think about what kind of a life I want, for heaven’s sake somebody thinks for me, because I can’t have time to do of thanking God.”

Some of us are busy with swearing apart from thanking God. They swear at the day, the minute they were borne, he would erase that day from the calendar, that minute from their watches if they could. Why had they been borne to that meaningless, damned world? They can never understand their parents, what was the logic of them to give birth them, why couldn’t they realize that logic? The conduct of the world is worthless. Look at this youth. Would that this kind of a youth hadn’t happened. Where do the people find these silly members of the Grand National Assembly from, are they going to correct this worthless world or country, they don’t have purpose to correct anyway, they sit and get their salary. Don’t ever ask ‘what about you’ to them, if they know that something would change they will have to work hard but it doesn’t worth to lift so much as a finger also for this world. Anyway why would he work while the members of the Grand National Assembly were sitting there? If it is possible they also don’t want to urinate not to give some help to sewer. Do you know he is working terribly hard but his feebleminded boss can’t realize his value.Ah! Those who sit in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. But they know to get salary 10 times more than his salary.

His parents didn’t only give birth to him but they also made him get married and made him have children. You suppose that his parents threatened him with a knife for him to get married, and the children came out of the blue. Don’t ask “So where was your mind”, he is very aggrieved, he would say “I really don’t know, I thought it had something nice, but unfortunately it hadn’t had, is there anything going right on this world that it would go right?” It is all his parents’ fault. He lights a cigarette and starts speaking, “what will we do for that air pollution, the people have destroyed that too, finally they made a hole in the ozone layer too, ah! That fool public, no no they won’t be a responsible member of society, they are very blockheaded. Let’s change the subject it really makes me angry, whatever, did you watch the match yesterday? He speaks like that for hours.

He is working too hard but he can’t curry favor with anyone, “they had raised us honest, we can’t do such things. Especially the bosses, they know nothing, my wife always shouts don’t know to talk properly, I would order tea now but the silly tea vendor can’t come in two hours, you must shout him, this is the language that that cow understands. Today is over too, now go home, and suffer the woman’s face, that bi... has cooked spinach again, I said that I don’t like spinach a hundred times, look at the dishonorable she says ‘I can’t do anything else you have bought it’ as if there was anythingelse in the bazaar.Children want pencils, allowance, holiday in the summer…we are working like a dog here, those animals don’t understand..’.He bumps to the driver on the road, he doesn’t know that job, the one who gets pencil to his hand has become a newspaper writer, we are not people who understand the sport anyway, everybody is being craftsman, the cooks don’t know how to cook, etc. etc.

Our man understands everything but you should see him when he takes control! (God forbid!) But especially those members of the Grand National Assembly and the boss! Match water to their roots! Don’t ever ask “Ok you are right but what should we do, how should we do?” he knows ‘what’ and ‘how’ very well he even saves the world but it doesn’t worth for this worthless world and he goes on living on this world looking like a sewer. Where does this go to? Who knows?

What will it present us to know ourselves? Responsibility, becoming free of the problems, and by getting rid of the idea that someone always creates us problems getting our own responsibility. The person who knows himself and who can express himself as a human, gets the responsibility of the work he does, he becomes free by getting rid of his dependences and by giving up accusing.

Becoming free isn’t to behave like had gotten rid of our chains? Becoming free is to realize that we are the responsible of the events that are defined as problems and to get rid of our dependences.Everykind of problems that we meet face to face in our environment, welds of us ourselves not from this or that. There is a sentence “If you are not a part of the solution then you are a part of the problem”. If a person can’t produce products, then he has a big role in the problem.

People have assembled some kinds of groups and commissions like the T.N.A, UNICEF, UN, UNESCO, and have laid terrifying responsibilities on these groups, to be able to get rid of their responsibilities and find someone to accuse on every event that they would have. These groups have had to discover, announce and make it law, the people’s aspirations. At the same time these groups should have provided people who are the founding’s of them adjust the law by oppressing them, should have checked if it is adjusted to the law or not and if it isn’t they should have punished them. People have thought that they would be able to get rid of two responsibilities both by this way. The first one is, they wouldn’t be have to know themselves or what they want, the second one is, even if they know they wouldn’t be have to take even a step to put them into practice or constitute.

Always someone or something should have had to become a part of, for the wars to come to an end. All the wars always expect help from someone. The societies out of the war, always accuse someone, because they had assembled some associations to accuse.

Is there a problem with the life really? I can hear that you would say “Who do you thing you’re kidding?” if someone suddenly says “No there is no problem with the life, everything is perfect and in their proper place” to you, but this is the truth. The truth is your point of view to the events. The main subject is this, to know ourselves and to be able to attain an expressible noticement, is the answer of the question how we will have this kind of a point of view.

If we mention the members of the Grand National Assembly who are the most targets, they increase their salary increments in one second, but when we are the subject they are gathered for months and as conclusion they make a %10 increments don’t they? Yes this is right but wouldn’t you have done the same thing too? In addition even if you could have been sure of yourself, you can’t know if any of your relatives, fellow countryman’s, neighbors or acquaintances will make unlawfulness or robbery in your absence by using your name or not. I have seen these names to be used for a simple traffic fine also. In addition I ask you if the poor can be members of the Grand National Assembly. No because maybe you don’t know but the members of the T.N.A have to fill up too many people till they become members of the T.N.A.Otherwise they can’t get votes.

They haven’t been rich with the salary they take. Don’t be duped that I’m a dark defender of the members of the T.N.A like this. I don’t want to be managed like this as everyone, of course I don’t want to see the robberies, the hoodwinks. I don’t believe that it is the nation who has to make sacrifices every minute, when it is needed to be made sacrifices this nation never avoided doing that and will never avoid too, because the ones who were lost at the wars for a very small amount of land of this nation were our children. Maybe I don’t deserve to be managed this way but the T.G.N.A which is the mirror of our society does his job perfectly and entirely represents our society. Don’t get angry so quick, so what if they kick each other, don’t you do the same thing every time you can too? I know that I, you and we deserve all the perfect nesses but most of us can’t realize that too.

This society and all humanity deserve perfect ness what ever their believes are. How can we kill someone just because he doesn’t think like us? Watch the open residing; have you ever seen people who have the opposite ideas discussing the way suiting to a person or humanity? The thing I had seen was incitement each other, nobody shows the politeness to listen to another one, just tells the ideas that he thinks that is right by foaming at the mouth, and he tries to find someone who is side with him, and humiliate otherones.The one whose literature is strong and who can speak effectively id the winning of the open residing. In addition the problem is not to be a winning or an overcome. We should listen at least to be able to understand why people can see the ideas like that, which we can never believe in or accept. There is a slogan “We want a speaking society”. I want a society that listens, understands, tries to understand, and brings solutions.

We all know that we are a speaking society, we are always speaking but our speeches are useless. We speak behind people’s back, we speak where it isn’t necessary to, we only shout to have our rights. It is possible to love somebody just by understanding him, if we have raised a society that gets angry and hates, if we couldn’t have told them us, our ideas, this is our fault. Think once. Who are the people that we call intellectual? The ones who were enlightened themselves? But an intellectual lightens the darkness, doesn’t get angry with the darkness or doesn’t let anyone to do so, talks according to the minds, expresses the things that he knows that are right the way everybody will understand. The one whom we call intellectual must be like a light bulb, must strew light to the environment with his knowledge in all the societies that he enters. Look what Atatürk says about this subject: “The duty of the intellectuals is extremely important. There is no nation that advances without by relying on the moral bases. My spiritual inheritances are science and mind. The ones who want to appropriate me become my inheritors if they accept the guidance of mind and science. They are the real revolutionary that, they know to infiltrate to the real tendency at the people’s souls and conscience that they want to direct to the revolution of advance and acquire newness. It is impossible to set their real radiances to the brains, if the extant made-up stories are taken out of the minds. We never hesitate to march to our target, by succeeding in shifting the blame onto everything on this way. The crowds of people can be dispatched to directions that are wanted to, good or evil directions by everyone if the individuals aren’t thinkers, conscious of their law. It is necessary to save Turkey from the ones who dispatches it to the foundering and disappearing valley by wrong ways, there is a reality found for this. We will conform to it. That reality is that; to provide Turkey’s thinking minds wholly with new belief, to give fresh spirit to the all nation.”

Whose fault is it, if still there is a society getting angry with Ataturk today? If there are the ones who think Ataturk was opposite with the religion, this is exactly our fault.

Ataturk says that: “Religion is a necessary institution. The continuation of the irreligious nations is impossible. However, religion is between God and man.”

I didn’t want you to complete your life journey with ‘Whew! And what a pity’s and that’s why I am writing, maybe it would reach at the ones who need at just the right moment.
