What is the main purpose of "lucid dreams"? How does one have a lucid
dream?
A
lucid dream is being aware of and directing the dream. Using some specific
techniques, experiences in dreams can be intensified. Provided that the
necessary effort is made, we can gain the ability to realize we are in a
dream while inside the dream. Actually, all experiences we have in the
dreams are in the nature of dreams. These seem interesting because today
dreams are given the required importance again. Just like awakened life has
an energy, style and harmony of its own, life in sleep has its own form.
Both lives are in harmony with each other; never separate. Like the two
sides of a coin.
We can say that the process of sleep is our entertainment world, play
ground. During this process, we can enjoy the joy of the self as who we
are supposed to be, purified from fears and worries. There we are ready for
every experience and journey. There are no judging eyes looking at us. There
are only us. The joyful child inside us...
There what is important is rather than seeing everything, how what we wish
to see will benefit us. It is good as long as we do it to relax, to get
pleasure, to find solutions about our lives, to become more successful, more
self confident and more responsible. However if it is to escape life, not
accomplishing responsibilities of life or the responsibility of being
oneself, and to find consolation in sleep, I'm against that.
Sometimes it is possible to have lucid dreams in a short time with the
applied techniques. The intention here is important. What purpose are we
doing this for?
Can it be possible to control dreams, wake up in dreams and change them?
Definitely desired dreams can be had, or we can get answers to our problems
through our dreams. However even without doing those we are free in our
dreams. Dreams are the doors opening to the wisdom inside us. Dreams include
unique information belonging to us, putting light to this light in the
journey our soul makes into itself. 5-6 dreams we have every night tells us
about ourselves. What is important is to be a good dream rememberer,
interpret our dreams in the best way and carry the wisdom in them to our
lives and to present it to the good of both ourselves and of the Universe.
To
be able to control a dream inside a dream sometimes have benefits and
sometimes have harms. If you see a dog chasing you in the dream this may
scare you. If this dream is repeating at times, the reason must be
discovered at once. In this situation the best thing is to be awake in the
dream and with the consciousness that this is a dream, to face whatever is
feared or escaped from. This way, the person discovers a very important
truth about him and solves this problem in his awakened life. Realizing and
solving the problem in his dream will prevent it to be carried to the
awakened life.
A person experiencing a lucid dream, whenever he was aware that he was
dreaming he would say 'I will wake up' and was waking himself up in the
middle of the night. The motive behind doing this was not to face a possible
upsetting thing inside the dream. Perhaps he ignored many important dreams.
As a result of this habitual behavior, he had sleepless nights and his sleep
disorder continued.
How can we evaluate lucid dreams?
Many people say "All throughout the dream I was aware that it was a dream".
I have these experiences too. Most of these people don't know what lucid
dreams are and without any special effort they have this experience. These
dreams are especially important for the spiritual growth of the person.
Therefore to not forget the dream and to carry the energy of the dream to
awakened life, inside the dream they feel that they are in the dream. This
is a characteristic of guide dreams. Two years ago in a dream I was walking
on the street behind our house. A car on the left took my attention. It was
the car of a neighbor who lived in the same building. I asked myself "what
is this car doing in my dream?" this sentence made me realize I was in the
dream. What was interesting in the dream was the plate of the car. In the
morning going to work, I noticed something car owners never did; the car
was put in the entrance of the house. I remembered my dream. I played with
the numbers on the plate. I marked the result I got on the calendar. And do
you know what happened? I got married on that date! So is the important
thing to wake up on the dream? Or to find the meaning of the dream and enjoy
it in awake life?
Dreams are often the road signs of life. These messages carry importance for
everyone's life experiences. Not forgetting the dream carries an importance
not only for the highest good of the person but also of the universe.
In fact the highest good of the person is not separate from the god of the
universe.
As far as I know, personal improvement can be achieved by lucid dreams. Can
we say that this is the main purpose?
All
our dreams provide personal growth and spiritual purification. Of course to
develop talent, to find solutions to the problems that we couldn't solve in
awake life, to face the things you fear, to get answers about things you are
indecisive about, to discover life purpose, and to find solutions to health
problems is possible. I say sleep and awakened life, because they are a
whole. Never separate. The higher our level of consciousness level in life,
the higher the possibility of our noticing we are in the dream while
dreaming. If in life we love, peaceful, joyful, creative, productive and
self confident and not escaping responsibilities, our dreams are clear and
lucid.
A consultant had said that he had dreamed of his coming conference a few
times in his dream, and that he got very successful when he carried this
experience to reality.
Can lucid dreams have negative effects? If it's possible to see many desired
things, doesn't this after a while result in getting away from "real life"?
Or at least because the person is half-conscious, can it cause effects like
fatigue, desire to oversleep, etc?
Lucid dreams are dreams that are relaxing, pleasurable, awareness
increasing, and contributing to growth. You don't feel tired when you wake
up. If during the day you are cut off from life, think constantly about the
sleep process and do things forcedly, this makes you even more tired.
What we live in the sleep process, is the reflection of our life quality to
dreams. If we are individuals living according to universal principles, no
matter what we see no dream will disturb us when we wake up. We wake up
peaceful and relaxed. Just like in all self-growth works, we need to keep
these dream studies in balance, not let it get ahead of our responsibilities
to life, not exaggerate, not get far from logic, and not forget that these
are tools in front of our personal improvement. As someone who has had
dream experiences for years, and someone who does research about these, I
know that the best dreams are the one that happen by themselves.
People who have the sense of too much control in life are usually tense. I
think that being more flexible and open to surprises, to place the pieces of
the picture with joy, and to think about the puzzle is much more didactic.
If lucid dreams are evaluated in the right way, both our awareness in dreams
and in life will increase. In the light of the purity of our intention, we
will become more conscious and be able to make important steps towards
knowing ourselves.
It is said that the recorded people who are getting recorded psychological
treatment is 26% of people who have lucid dreams and the number dying
because of lucid dreams is 600? Can this be true? On another forum it was
said that it wasn't possible, at least death wouldn't occur?
I
don't think anybody dies because of lucid dreams. However many people
because of wrong dream beliefs, and because their dreams are not interpreted
and understood in the right way are labeled 'sick'. After a while they start
to believe they are sick too. I had a few consultants coming to me with that
situation. They were on medicine. They were misunderstood both by their
environment and the people they consulted and started medical therapy. We
interpreted their dreams, they all carried important messages. Now they have
quit medicine. They chose to not fear but live and wake up to their dreams.
Can the main important point about this subject be to get the help of a
specialist?
Yes, this is really very important. Until the person learns to interpret
his/her dreams, and if he intends to apply these techniques, these have to
followed and done by a specialist step by step. In a way like "Dream
Coaching". After a while, after reaching an adequate level on this subject,
the individual may freely interpret his dreams.
