In
fact, the word “popular” has to feel tasty, light and joyful to someone,
rather than disturbing. However, this is not so as seen from my side. After
all, I have plenty of reasons to feel so.
First of all, regarding the nature of the subjects we are interested in or
dealing with, the word “popular” sounds even “flavorless” to me than being
“tasteless”. As all the issues we are trying to have information about, are
all “ancient”. And among the centuries, there are “rare” brains who can add
“new” stuff to that information gathered. And I am afraid, we “very seldom”
have chance to get to know those rare brains. I mean, it is not that easy to
take this teachings and information, mould them with a perfect manner and
finally add new sights to them and “discover” new levels beyond. If we had
formulations just like we have in physics or chemistry, than it could have
been easier. Well, as we have no such formulation, when it comes to
“teachings”, our understanding towards what’s new and what is ancient or
what is “made-up” becomes confused and dull.
Second of all, the word “popular” states almost an insult to the “deepness”
of the teachings according to me. Whereas, popular does not have to be
“shallow”. As we cannot quickly give an example to the issues which are both
popular and deep; the “concept ignorance” we are experiencing as world
people is the biggest danger we ever can experience. Almost everyone is
clueless about general concepts. We are zapping thru the channels after
labeling them as “if its popular, it must be shallow”. Conclusion is the
same: a whole life spent with wondering about the facts...
Not everyone has to be interested in everything at the same level. But we do
intensively act so. It’s like a wide range of comedy that is scened, from
the comic situations just to say “I know it too”, to the tragedies that
varies. Just like phrased in a famous Chinese quote, which says “things that
are taken to its extremes enough are happen to be equal to their
alternatives”. We laugh so much while watching these comedy movies that we
sometimes find ourselves crying.
Everyone
is free to walk in their own way; I believe no one cannot argue about that.
But without investigating, searching, taking a step “without not knowing”
into the subjects whose nature is “knowledge”, seems completely astonishing
to me as well as making me feel hopeless. At the beginning, I used to blame
myself like “you are prejudging about the way they choose”. But in the time
being I have witnessed such conversations that, it would be more of a
prejudice if I had not shared it.
Let’s put all those “stuff” aside. Let’s make our argument much simpler.
Let’s think. We are on a way leading to ourselves aren’t us? In a way, what
ever we choose is a tool for a journey to ourselves. And in this journey, no
matter how many road friends we have, the main passenger in our journey is
ourselves. The abc of the self discovery is to know ourselves. It is to
identify and –if possible- to understand only and only ourselves -in every
meaning, every way, in every dimension. Important? Yes, very. So no matter
where we choose to start, or from what we choose to start, this is the
unique painstaking journey of us. We have to support this care, this
uniqueness with the sensitivity in being well informed about the teachings
we choose to walk with.
We say we are in new informatics age. New age must not mean indigestivity
with concentrated information. If so, we are making a mistake somewhere.
Because the term “information age” implies only that the information is easy
to “reach”; it doesn’t imply that this information is “easy to digest”.
Information does not give you any handbook about how to digest itself. All
the guidance you may ever need is only in “yourself”.
But what are we doing? Except the quick initiations we take in the manner we
eat fast food (by the way not counting them primarily, doesn’t mean they are
one of the most dangerous actions to take); we, for example, see experts to
make our chakras “open”.
Without having a clue that a circular and spinning mechanism cannot be
“open” or “closed” we go and see those people, and 15 minutes later come out
happily with brand new, working and shining chakras! No one tells us that if
your chakras are fully “open” (as you call them), you have to wait for queue
in the mental hospital as you will be mentally imbalanced or if they are
fully “closed” (as you call them), and you have to be lucky enough to find a
nice place in cemetery! Maybe even if they say, it does not matter for us.
Who in the world would like to hear about himself being mistaken, being
cheated and even pay money for those mistakes? So we took our place in the
blind and deaf minds society.
Whereas, the world needs, intellectual, conscious, investigating people who
know themselves, who know about what they know and what they don’t. World
desperately needs people who does not confuse the evolution with energetic
degree; people who are aware that the “simple” itself is the “deepest”.
So,
I cannot help myself to ask, and my inner voice actually keeps asking those
questions like:
Despite the fact that not every can be well educated about every issue, why
do we keep on blindly believing in those who tell us that they are experts
of 82 issues? What on earth is this underestimation the deepness of the
information? Which teaching, especially the ones that are old and ancient as
much as the human history can be perceived in such shallow level? What
happens if we do not happen to be the “most” talented, the “most”
successful, the “most” most? Is it that the final place where we’ll be
located is ourselves and ourselves only? Why this hurry, why is this rush?
In spirituality, wasn’t it the one of the first rules taught to us that we
all have enough time in this lifetime to achieve whatever we came for? Why
are we trying the work the system without considering the system rules?
And so, from the “initiation” I take from my conscience, I quickly echo
those words that came with protesting:
Let your chakras stay closed (!)... You, just keep on walking in the way
which you think is correct. Hang on to your freedom of not believing in what
everyone says. Keep on being selective on what your logic don’t accept keep
on questioning what your heart feels not right. The best way is not the one
that is a shortcut. The best way is the way you know best. As the only way
that will lead you to yourself, is “your” way.
