If I remember correctly Confucius said the famous saying after seeing himself flying freely as a butterfly in his dream.

“Am I the person dreaming as a flying butterfly, or am I the butterfly dreaming of me right now?”

It’s not very related to the topic I am going to talk about now, but it makes you think. It makes you ask the question “what if?” to yourself.

While I was still in high school , one night I had encountered a ghost. When I explained this to my family very excitedly , they just laughed at me.

I did my military service in Tunceli/Hozat. A very undeveloped place high in the mountains, free from noise and light pollution. At night , the sky would transform into a movie screen and display all the lights , the planets and the stars you can not usualy see in the city because of the lights. Sometimes we used to see shooting stars. And sometimes we used to see flashing lights moving around the sky slowly from side to side. Were they choppers, planes, sattelites, or flying saucers? Who knows?

The mystic world and the real world we live in, are actually side by side. If the mystic road is the highway, the real world is the pavement.

The pavement is always crowded and safer. The highway is more dangerous, but with less people .

If we separate the people of the world into two groups as mystics and materialists, the mystics walk on the highway, while the others walk on the pavement.Well, this brings up another question. Which one is on the right way?

According to my ideas, none of them. I believe the true way is to walk on the rain drains that are at the joint points of the highway and the pavement. The road most frequesntly used and the road most dangerous and hard to walk.

Why do I say we should walk on this road?

When has science made the biggest discoveries?  When it separated from religion and started asking the question “what if…”

They tried out new theories by using the trial-error methos and testing them constantly over and over by asking the question “what if….this theory is right?

What if…. this method is wrong?” type of questions.

When did the mystic belief start to bloom? When the people started to think more open mindedly, when they started observing other religions and beliefs and asking themselves “what if…this is the right way ?”

The basic physics book that is accepted in whole of the universities has a small interlude in the front,  telling all the branches in physics and the chapters in the book that cover them. At the end there’s a small paragraph written “ there is also a branch called meta-physics. We know and accept this, but it isn’t covered in this book as physics does not observe this branch” They accept meta-physics,it’s written in the physics book.

As usual , what takes thoughts to extreme points are people. Because of extreme mystics and extereme materialists , these two can never get along.

If they could be more open minded and asked themselves the “what if…” question, they could get along better.

I was watching a UFO programme a few weeks ago. One of the “where do the UFO’s come from?” theories was the “hollow world “ theory. A theory consisting of the world is hollow, that has another sun inside and hides a more  advanced civilisation. The person near me started to laugh hysterically. She said by satellites and X-rays the world had been seen inside out . She thought this was a very stupid theory.

I can’t say I believe in the theory hundred percent. But you just can not wipe away theories by bits of knowledge. For example , the sattelites can only scan the earth until a specific depth. They can not see whats beneath the unpenetrable layer. When you think about it, isn’t magma still a theory? We don’t know what depth it is in , do we? Well, this hollow world is also another thoery. How can you throw it away without asking the “what if….” question to yourself. I guess she will never be open minded.

Another friend of mine found a small piece of paper with arabic writing on it  under her doormat and some water on her doorstep. She got suspicious that they had a put a spell on her .To get rid of it she opened her door to all types of magiacans and hodja’s and she spent a lot of money.

I borrowed the writing from her and showed to a friend of mine. On it was written “ hundred percent wool .Safir socks. Don’t iron”

Later I investigated the floor and I noticed that her doorstep had a big dent and the water was filling up in there. Most probabaly what had happened was somebody had brought socks from a cheap shop and the label had slid under the doormat. And after they had washed the stairs the water had collected in the dent. But still I couldn’t convince her. She was so obsessed with the idea that she still pours money to anyone who claims that they can break the spell

Don’t forget , it doesn’t matter what road you choose to walk, but if you don’t just look at the other side and keep an open mind , the distance between your road and that road will increase and eventually you will forget that road. That’s why always keep in your mind the “what if….?” question and don’t stop checking both directions all the time.
