 When
we look at the dictionary meaning, initiation is of Latin origin. With respect
to spiritual content,it could be defined as “it is the regular training of an
indivudual,for spiritual development, under the supervision of a trainer who
can receive the spiritual effect and transmit it”
Initiation is a way of enlightement. There have been numerous information such
as Platon and Pisagor who were raised through this ways and who enlightned
their surroundings. However people’s need for enlightement and the methods to
do it have changed in line with the material and spiritual development level
of humanity.
The
initiation method, once useful for people,is not applied in its real meaning.
When it is tried to be applied,it turns into imitation,which makes it harmful.
Today the examples are frequently seem. In almost every country and every
believe system there are people who pretend to be initiator but, in fact,have
no resemblance to previous ones and do not have the psyhic talent of them.
I can
define initiation symbolically in order to clarify it better: think of a cave
you can continue your way after entring a door (enlightining). At the
beginning,the door is narrower than your dimensions. However, to enter it is
neccesary to be smaller. It is an antique temple rule. It ýs neccesary
to become smaller than the door and to enter as if entring through a normal
one. In other words the concepts of death and birth are valid here.
Symbollically, the body’s molecular parts are spreaded and after entring the
gathering process begins.
This
is the initiation of the way. The way for refusing the existance completely or
giving it up and gathering the existance again has started.The mision of the
initatior is to set an example in order to teach how to enter through the door
not to order or lay down some rules.The invisible tie with the person to be
initiated starts at the stage.
Gathering the existance again is the study of an individual to provide his/her
enlightenment. Not in the meaning of being initiated and enlightining others.
And this journey continue with initiations following each other. ýnitiations
never end. They continue as the rode goes on.
 There
is no protection during the entrance, that is, the first entrance. However it
if succeeds, the protection starts. Therefore, the rituals during initiations
are important. For the initiatior to add something to the initiations on
his/her own is extremely dangerous. In an infinite open space, the things to
be added endanger the initiation and at this point, the health of an
individual is in danger. Spritual an mental health are at stake here.
There
are a lot of doors on the road. If a person wishes he/she can give up the
doors of the main door and may prefer the other doors. It is realized in a
person’s free will. However returning afterwards leads to be a guest on the
rode. Since there is the interference of other initiations.
Initiator promises to be a guide starting from the pass from the door.And this
promise forms an invisible tie. This promise is guidance for a time which can
change from one person to another thus,the initatior has to carry a serious
responsibility. “Okey I have intiated you, that is the way...” Such a
statement is against the ethcial rules of being a master. If the person being
intiated wants to go out of the way the master leaves him/her and continues
with the others.
Every
intiation means being a guide to a different traveller. The master starts from
the beginning with every new comer and continues the guidance as long as it is
wanted since the invisible tie has been set up. This tie never breakes up.
This task does not resemble tourist guidance. The master can cut the tie if
the person wants to go out of the way.
On the
way rules work by themselves. In other words not special or added,they are the
issues to be applied when the right time comes.
 Initiation
is the beginning step to a teaching. This step is the process through which
you succeed in making balanced moves. Afterwards there come the initaions
necessary for starting running. However these processes need to happen at
certain intervals. The human soul has emotions in dormand. This emotions are
woken by the initaion. The initiator can be a person who has free will.
Dreams are the things that weak people can reach.
The real initiation is something much more than an empty dream and simple
science. A lot of unconscious people have entered through the door. But their
exit is unknown. The initiation road is a gulf that enables the courageous
ones to come out. Nowadays, we see that everybody that has taken the first
step demands to have initiations hoping that they will start running
immediateliy. Nevertheless, they run fast on a road which they do not know
where to fall because they have not grasped the meaning of proper walking.
These speed continues at an extreme rate nowadays. Speed makes people excited.
And in groups, bewitched by speed they go on thinking that they are walking.
And when they fall or hit a wall on the way they get severely hurt.
Some
of them lose their awareness so much at the beginning that they get bigger and
want to exceed the dimensions of the key. And they get so big that they are
stuck in the key. Nevertheless, they still think that they are walking. Or
they forget that they are travellers and start to guide the others. The new
comers are deceived by them and take the first step towards losing their way.
There
are also false initiators in front of the door. They deceive both themselves
and the new comers. They persuade the new comers so skillfully that brain-washing
starts there. They never get through the door but they go on their work.
Sometimes, they summon people and tell them that they will initiate them.
These are the things with no base. Each initiation is a guidance promise and
each individual has a different guidance period. If the initiation is done in
groups or from a distance this ethic is violeted.
The sub-conscious is ready to be persuaded during the entrance. And this false
guides, give the wrong impression to people that they have already got through
the door. And this people think that they have started walking on the right
path. The sub-conscious starts to give harm to people’s mental health in this
process. As a result, the mind gives up and there emerge suicides opsesions or
schizopreniac situations. From then on this people start to leave in that
virtual world thinking that there are enlightenment and wisdom.
 They
assume that they are enlightened in this false world. And there comes people
pretending that they are angels. The false initiators just watch them proudly.
Their egos get bigger and bigger. Thus, they either get satisfaction or
financial gains.
As I
will explain below, initiation is degenerated now. Today’s people pursue
happiness without science and science without wisdom. However, in the past,
these issues were inseperable. Inýtitaion used to mean the climbing of
human existance towards the peak of the mind. And people could be in command
of the world only by reaching these peaks.
Historically, esoteric groups have blanded with in antique ages in Egypt
antique Greece in Jewes in middle east and Mediterreian, in Christianity in
Islam. Even today some ezoterik groups survive in a certain religious frame.
Structrally, there are similarties and differences esoteric groups and
religious. ýn both groups beliefs or teachings are reinforced through
certain rituals and they are realized undur the supervision of a certain
hierarchy.
In
both groups there are symbols,myths and legends. Concrete sciences are allowed
only under certain limits. There is only one main difference: religions are
open to evey one since they want to sepread their beliefs however, ezoterik
teachings are open to people with special qualities and tendencies.
According to researches, in all primitive societies, there were initiation
ceremonies which were called “entrance rituals”. Ascending from one society to
another was realised through entrance rituals. This rituals were open to all
members of society. The most important ritual, was the acceptance of the
teenager to adult hood. These entrance called “initiation”. It was seen in all
primitive societies.
 There
are three stages to it: isolation of the candidate,training an entrance to the
new situation. Upon the completion of these stages the person is accepted into
adults and his social situation is changed radically.The aim of the ritual is
to get the individual out his previous social statue. Thus, “initiation” place
a big role in the formation of personality. This action may have a meaning of
death and re-birth. It shows that the person wants to be another person and
does not want to remain at his natural state.The primitive man reaches the
concept of humanity through this stage.
This
person also is the person who gets informed and learns the secrets at
metaphysical level. He has learned the gods of the tribe their real names and
the legends related to the formation of the world. These person is the person
who knows.
There
are two different reasons on the base of this change. The first one is that
there has been a concept which despises the human will as the development of
one-god religions. A human being is leveled down to the level of a slave. His
freedom is removed by fate.
The
other reason is that esoteric groups have been politicised. The aim is the re-inforcemend
of old traditions and beliefs.
In
esoteric approach initiation needs a certain amount of time. The rituals
symbolise the beginning of this period. No matter how civilized the culture,the
initiation period requires a mental awarenes.
In
brief, initiation is the process in which an individual reaches his own
consciousness. This requires the searching of basic knowlegde. therefore, the
grasping of concepts and gaining consciousness form the initaion period.
Psychoteraphy which accept the dimensions of initiation and spiritual
development has some parallel. A master even suggested that these two can
complete each other. Why does an initiation candidate need psychoteraphy?
Because, any spiritual training is done with adequate sincertiy and this
discipline moves the sub-conscious complex as Jung’s menitoned.These complexes
become much stronger by spiritual practices. If these complexes not adopted
conscioussly they get activated in a harmful way.This tell us why some of the
groups don’t work as they needed. We should accept that there are so many
esoteric groups only work for controlling people’s life or meeting material
needs of their leaders .
 Initiator’s
talent and and his/her ethical values are very important in order to become
successful in initiation.Therefore, the initiation candidate has to be very
careful by choosing the initiator. There are so many groups gathered around
charismatic but manupilative leaders. When this situations, where the
psychological problems are ignored , are the cause of the abusing of the
system.The phenomena, which is formed as a result of ignoring the
psychological problems, is the root of the problem.
In
Latin “initia” means “to begin”,thus we can define initiation as a new
beginning. There are energycal and psychlogical aspects of initiation in some
sytems. Energycal element can be described as arousing some power points and
energies at the auric body . Since the energy passes during the initiation,
initiator should have the same process before. Therefore the relation between
the initiator and the initiation candidate is important. From this perpective,it’s
not impossible to get initiated by yourself but it’s very difficult to achive
it.
In the
psychological aspect, “transfer” has an important role. Transfer means to
become aware of unsolved inner conflicts. Thus it becomes vital in the
initiation process. Transfer is one of the reasons why initiation amplifies
personal and spirituel development. This also explains how initiation may
cause psychological corruption and dissapointment in incapable and greedy
leaders’ hands.
The
transfer happens between two people in initiation, as well. Therefor, getting
initiated by yourself is as impossible as doing psychoteraphy to yourself.
Initiation is like a formation period. Relation with the initiator should be
closed to outside in order to work properly. This is the reason why secrecy
and silence are important in esoteric matters. Silence is a power, which
creates deep and genuine spiritual transformation.
 There’s
a debate going on in the community: “ My initiation is the best”. Actually,
this’s a shameful situation. In positions where knowing /being aware of
oneself lack, a master might be in danger of worshipping himself/herself.
We shouldn't forget
that our mark on the earth is our own existence.
