He was born on oktober 23th 1958 in İstanbul, started his music life playing piano and violin when he was small. Then he met classical guitar when he was 5 years old and had been tought by Prof. Antonio Doumesitch at his 7 years old so that he had attended his courses for 5 years. At the same time he was interested in jazz guitar and he became professional player performing with small orchestras when he was 12 years old.

In Uskudar Community of Musıc he attended Türkisch music courses of Emin Ongan and took courses about Makam ve Nazariyet. He made researchs on Türkisch Volk Music with Şemsi Yastıman,who is good at instrument(Saz) and has developed a new approach to instrument(Saz). After his high-school education he qualified for scholarship "New Talend Of Succes" from the Berkley Music Academy and went to USA (1976 - 1979). After he had finished composition and Armony courses there , he graduated from 4-year-School in two years with high grade and Prof. Gordon Delemond asked Hasan Cihat Örter to become his student and he had taken high composition courses from Liege conservatory of Belgium Royal Academy and here he obtained his master's certificate and doctor's degree. He was honoured with the past masters who have served on turkish music award by rectors of İstanbul Technical Unıversity and Mimar Sinan Üniversity state conservatuaries.

Because of his military obligation he returned to his homeland Turkey and then he performed with big orchestras and published his albums. At the same time he started composing musics for advertisements ,documentary films and dramas . He joined the City orchestra, which was founded in 1989 as a payroll musical artist and resigned voluntarily after 8 years.

In 1994 he joined Modern Folk Triad and played guitar with this group . Additionally he made vocal music with his group.Furthermore he took its responsibility for arrangement. İn 1995 with his group he performed at İnternational Houston Jazz Festival in USA, open air concerts in Harbiye and concerts in 7 different cities. İn the same year he performed at international Akbank Jazz Festival.

On the 1. Girne golden olive competition became premier in the line of composition and song and in 1993 he published his first album � the adaptation of Anatolien melodies by classical guitar�. The album named �İnspiration� has been started to be sold all over the world . Thus our musical artist entered into the list of E.M.I, which is one of the biggest record companies ,so he was awarded by the golden plate. He published these compositions as researchs and essays in a book. The number of these compositions are approximately 2000. He made an album,which is dedicated to worker women of the world named �Symphonies of the woman�. İn 1996 he published also another album �İstanbul Songs of the Modern Folk Triade� At the end of the year 1997 his album named �RE-FORMATION� (instrument compositions of Turkish Music NEW-AGE) was published. At the end of the year 1997 the remix of his album named �RE-FORMATION� was published by London Southern Cross Studios. His Sixth album (INSPIRATION RE-MIX) entered into the list of Sony Music European Catalogue. USA Billboard magazine declared that Hasan Cihat örter is the first musical artist,whose albums are sold in 30 countries. İt puts him in the front rank of Türkish Jazz Music. İn 1999 THE SOUND TRACK of �LETTER FİLM� (1998 RAKS), and RE-FORMATION 2 (ANADOLU ESİNTİLERİ NEW-AGE/Sony Music) have been started to be sold all over the world.

       LOVE and SADNESS (Ezgi Media-2002). Quiet Shout of the guitar (Genç Music 2003)(in the memory of his student Yavuz Çetin), Love injury of two dervishes (Seyhan Music 2004), Modern Play Melodies of İstanbul (Seyhan Music 2004). He published �Tears of the World� from EMI in 2004 using his nickname �Üstad�. Classics 1-2-3, which consist of his favourite songs and the humanity: Symphony Of Kabe and Hicret were published by his own music company . He thinks that the humanity: Symphony Of Kabe and Hicret is the most magnificient album in his 18 albums and approximately 2000 compositions.

       "Bizim Sazımız - Bizim Cazımız, Ne Var ? Ne Yok ?" TRT programına orkestrasıyla canlı müzik yaparak katıldı. Sürgündeki Devlet, Menderes, Kızıl Güneş, Sultan Galiyev, DÜNDEN BUGÜNE (TGRT), KIBRIS BELGESELİ (SHOW TV), KIBRIS BELGESELİ SOUND-TRACK CLIP, CUMHURİYET BELGESELİ, OSMANLI'NIN DOĞUSU (TRT 2), FATİH VE FETİH (TRT 1), DOĞDUĞUM TOPRAKLAR (TRT), SON TANIKLAR (TRT), SUMMER UNIVERSITY 2003-ISTANBUL TANITIM MÜZIKLERİ (42 ÜLKE-72 ŞEHİR)...  gibi 200'e yakın belgesele özgün ve jenerik müzikleri yaptı. Cemal Reşit Rey Gençlik Festivali, Uluslararası Gitar Festivali (C.R.R. Ocak 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005) İstanbul Müzik Şenliği, 1995 Akbank Jazz Festivali gibi birçok uluslararası festivalde çaldı.

       He joined the TRT program �our instrument �our melodies, what does it consist of? What does not it consist of?� (Bizim Sazımız - Bizim Cazımız, Ne Var ? Ne Yok ?) with his own orchestra making live music.

       He composed original and jeneric musics for approximately 200 documentry Films such as STATE İN EXİLE, MENDERES,RED SUN, SULTAN GALİYEV, THEN AND NOW (TGRT),CYPRUS DOCUMENTARY FİLM, SOUND-TRACK CLIP OF CYPRUS DOCUMENTARY FİLM, REPUBLİC DOCUMENTARY FİLM,BİRTH OF THE OTTAMAN EMPİRE, FATİH AND CONQUEST, LANDS WHİCH I WAS BORN,LAST EYEWİTNESS, SUMMER UNIVERSITY 2003-ISTANBUL ADVERTİSEMENT MUSİCS (42 STATES-72 CİTİES)... Like �The youth festival in Cemal Reşit Rey�, �The İnternational Guitar Festival�, İstanbul Music festival, 1995 Akbank Jazz festival he performed at many international Festivals.

He prepared and presented the Program �MUSİC AND WE� on TRT 2 which had been presented for 4 years. He had arranged live program �MUSİC WHİCH COVERS THE NİGHT� ,which had not been seen before, on STV for 3 years.

       He prepared the book �BUZUKI EROL-EROL ÖRTER� with his uncle Erol ÖRTER (Buzuki Erol),who is good at rembetiko- and made an arrangement of REBET songs.

He has been honoured with approximately 3000 awards until now.

Poetries with two lines(Birun Publisher-2000), The Artist (Bemol Music 2002) , compositions of the instrument(Saz) (Bemol Music 2003), cure methods by music and researchs(Bemol Music 2003), classic guitar compositions from Anatolia(by VCD)(Bemol Music 2004) are his important books.

       Additionally he made also Türkish Republik State railways composition ,composition for the fight against traffic monster association, the police college march,the 8.army corps march of Elazığ, Beşiktaş sport Club march,Üsküdar composition, Ümraniye composition, the 80. year march of Türkish Republic.

       His name was given to a street while he is alive. The name of "ISKELE ARKASI SOKAK" (the street behind port side) where he lives was changed to "BESTEKAR HASAN CİHAT ÖRTER SOKAĞI"(composer Hasan Cihat Örter Street).

       The Composer has given many concerts in many different countries such as USA, RUSSİA,THE NETHERLANDS, BELGİUM, ENGLAND, FRANCE,YUGOSLAVİA, SPAİN,İTALY,GERMANY,INDİA, AZERBAİJAN, AFGHANİSTAN, JAPAN, CHİNA, CYPRUS.

       While he is making arrangement of his all compositions, he can also play all instruments when he is composing.Hasan Cihat Örter mostly known guitarist but can also play these instruments professionally.

       He has been working at his Home Studio which was converted into museum. İf he finds some time at his domestic and abroad concerts,he gives speechs about Music and the enlightenment of community against musical degeneration,media which makes poor quality broadcast such as Televole and cultural degeneration.
