Graduated from Bosphorus University's "Tourism Management" department and then University of Marmara's "Business Administration" Faculty, but never intended to be a "business executive", his heart and mind was full of writing and journalism ideals. Beginning with early 1980's, his essays and articles on "popular culture" appeared in several important magazines in Turkey. He was among the founders and first editors of Studyo Imge monthly music and culture magazine (now considered as a "cult" in Turkey) in mid-eighties. Between 1987-95, he worked as a free-lance writer and reporter for daily newspaper Cumhuriyet. In early 1988, he became the Editorial Director of Playboy Magazine's Turkish Edition and ran that position until 1990. Between 1991-95, he co-produced and presented a documentary music program to TRT Television called "Rock Diary" and a rock music show "Beyond the Dreams". After 1997, he shifted his career towards the "New Media" and worked as a contributing editor and columnist for ZDNet.com's Turkish Edition. He was one of the executives of the leading Internet corporation "Ixir" between 2000-2001. His strongest ambition has been to accomplish his research on the "anomalies" of the ancient history since the high school days.

With "2012: Rendez-vous With Marduk" he gets the first step for a three-volumes series. Burak is 44 years old (born in 1961) and previously published three more books on popular music and culture: "Bob Marley and Reggae" (1985); "History of Rock Music" (1985) and "From May Flower to the Song of Peace" (1986). His latest book was "Talismans Save Thee", a modern fantastic novel on immortality and a 5000 years old ancient secret.
